NAPLAN 2018
A reminder to all families with children in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 that NAPLAN tests will be held 15 May to 17 May.
Year 3 and 5 students are to follow the instruction of their teachers and Year 7 & 9 students must go promptly to the DPA at 8.45am. NAPLAN tests should be finished by recess.
Students need to ensure that they bring 2B pencils and sharpener. Year 7 & 9 students need to bring a working calculator on Thursday 17 May as well as blue/black pens for the writing task.
Students who miss the tests between 15 to 17 May will need to sit catch-up tests on Friday. No mobile phones or smart watches that can access the internet will be allowed in the testing rooms.

Parent Teacher Interviews
A new way of booking for Parent Teacher Interviews will be introduced to the Prep School from Term 2. Parents with students in the secondary school will be familiar with the PTO (Parent Teacher Online) system which will be introduced into the Prep School.
Parent Teacher interviews will be on Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28 June and bookings can be made for 3:30 – 6:45pm on either of the days but not both.
The PTO system will open for parents to make bookings from 12 June at 9am and will close off on Tuesday 26 June at 8am. Parents are not able to login outside of these dates and times.
Please ensure your EMAIL address is up to date in the KWS System. We have provided PTO the mother’s email address, unless there is no address and then the father’s will be used.This is the email address that will need to be entered by you to request the login details from the PTO website.Both parents’ email addresses will be provided in the case of parents living apart so separate logins can be requested.
NB – For class 6C parents only – Mrs Charlton will be away on Tuesday 26 June. Bookings with Mrs Charlton for Thursday 28 June can be made by logging in and booking on PTO. Mrs Charlton will do interviews on Wednesday 27 June in lieu of Tuesday but to book for this day, parents will need to email or ring the Prep Office and book with Mrs Edwards at prepoffice@kws.nsw.edu.au or ring 6392 0316. Bookings can only be made in the same date range as for PTO bookings and no bookings will be made prior to that time.

School Photo Day
The Prep School Photo Day is on Thursday May 10. All students will be photographed as individuals and in their class. The information on how to order the photos will come to you from the photographers Cliff Dykes Photography. All students should come to school in full winter uniform and bring PE clothes if required.
A family photo is optional for families who want to purchase them. Family photos are taken only of those who have returned the special Family Package Order Form with money before May 10.
The family photos will be taken during the lunch break to minimise disruption to class schedules (12:55 – 1:45 pm) and to allow siblings from the secondary school to be part of the photo. Parents are asked to organise the secondary siblings to come to the Prep School to be included in the photo during the lunch break.

ICAS Competitions
A reminder that the nomination forms for ICAS were due in this week, please forward any outstanding forms prior to Friday 4 May. The competitions will take place as follows:

Lego Donations
Year 3 are doing a stem unit of work on Built Environments. We would love any donations of Lego that you are no longer using to assist with our Science unit. If you have any that you would like to donate would you mind sending it into the front office, we would be extremely grateful.
