Lunchtime Hangout
On Wednesday 16 October 2019 it was great to have Emma from Headspace Mount Barker visit the Secondary area for lunchtime hang outs!
There was plenty to do with Uno challenges, quoits, the giant chess set and quotes to colour in. Emma was happy to give out the lollypops, wristbands, pens and Headspace info and to answer any questions from students. We thank Emma and the team at Headspace for their support of our school community and hope to have them visit again another lunchtime – due to popular request.
Many thanks to Nathaniel, Josiah and Daniel for helping set up the tables and bean bags etc, and to Sean and Troy for helping pack everything away.

Tuning into Teens
Headspace at Mount Barker will be running 'Tuning into Teens' as a 1 day Workshop on 7 November 2019 from 9.30am - 4.30pm. This Workshop is a free program that aims to help parents, carers and adolescents manage the many emotional challenges of this stage of life. The workshop will teach parents and carers how to manage their own and their adolescent’s emotions in ways that help to remain close and keep communicating. By learning these skills, conflict within the family is less likely and the teen is more likely to talk to parents and carers about the challenging issues they face. These are factors that have been found to reduce the risk of mental health and substance abuse problems.
Please contact Natalie or Nicole at Headspace on 8398 4262.
