House News - Phoenix

Hello everyone,

To help Phoenix students get through these challenging times, I have started a web page/ Teams group for Phoenix House.  As our community is somewhat distanced at the moment from each other, I was hoping that myself and the other Phoenix Leaders could continue to support the students in Phoenix House virtually.

It’s in times like these that we get to appreciate how helpful technology is in our every day lives.  Everyone is able to stay in contact with teachers, friends and other students. Technology also provides for all of us to support each other, especially those who may be struggling at home.

The web page/Teams page will have an online suggestion box, where students in Phoenix could discuss topics, offer their ideas and ask any school related questions.  We hope to make the page both interesting and interactive.

Good luck to everyone with their studies in Term 4.  This year has been very difficult for most of us.  I know we can make it through this year, as long as we work together.

All the best for Term 4.

Online learning brought us many positives and negatives.  In my experience, it was positive that we could still connect with our teachers and peers, through technology.  This method of communication proved to be difficult at times, as the class wasn’t as lively. Although the learning conditions were not ideal, I found I had a little more time on my hands, because travel time to and from school was removed.  Online learning was both a strange and interesting experience.

During Term 3, the Phoenix House Leaders (Captains, Homeroom Representatives, Middle Years Leaders and myself) have implemented the daily sending out of inspirational quotes and memes to all students and teachers in Phoenix House.  Our goal was to inspire Phoenix students and staff, and help them to have a positive outlook during these challenging times.  We hoped that these quotes and/or memes helped everyone start the day in a positive way.

As a team we encourage more Phoenix students to step next term and share quotes or inspirational memes that mean a lot to them.

Thank you to Ms Kintzel, the Phoenix House Leader, in supporting the Phoenix Leaders in introducing new initiatives.
