Vale Sir Ken Robinson

This week saw the sad passing of Sir Ken Robinson, aged 70.  A New York Times bestselling author, he led international projects on creative and cultural education across the world, unlocking and igniting the creative energy of people and organisations.  Sir Ken was the most watched speaker in TED’s history, with his 2006 talk ‘Do Schools Kill Creativity?’ being viewed online over 60 million times and seen by an estimated 380 million people in 160 countries.  If you have not yet viewed, set aside 15 minutes and click on the link below - you won’t be disappointed.

A couple of Sir Ken Robinson’s thoughtful quotes;

“If you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original.”

“For most of us the problem isn’t that we aim too high and fail.  It’s just the opposite: we aim too low and succeed.”

“Being in your element is not only about aptitude, it’s about passion: it is about loving what you do.”

“What you do for yourself dies with you when you leave this world, what you do for others lives on forever.”

Wellness Week

Well done Mrs. Milich and Mrs. O’Brien for your organisation of Wellness Week activities at the Junior School and Early Learning Centre.  The activities were just the tonic needed in the coldest week of the year.

Year Five 'COVID-19' Writing Task

Our Year Five students have been writing a ‘Letter to Australia’ outlining their COVID-19 experiences.  Some thoughtful and entertaining responses were produced.

Dear Australia

Through this hard period of time, we will get through this together.

In some ways I enjoy remote learning and in some way I don’t. But as it says on TV, “we’re all in this together”.

Have a clear mind, social distance, stay home, wash your hands often, stay safe, don’t touch your face and……finish NETFLIX.  We can end this!

RLP-2 Assembly Riddles

In each weekly Assembly during the RLP-2, a  riddle will be offered for students and parents to solve.  The answer to last week’s riddle - ‘It belongs to you, but everyone else uses it. What am I?’ - your name.

This week’s riddle - ‘When is a door not a door?’
