Covid Winter Sleepout Wrap Up
Never let a pandemic get in the way of a wonderful Winter Sleepout! What a great night all 48 participants had as we zoomed for two hours.
A huge thank you to the Youth Ministry class who led us in a very powerful yet moving prayer service to kick off the evening. It reminded us of why we had gathered, focusing on the plight of the homeless, and some positive outcomes that have occurred as a result of Covid. Members of the Vinnies team were up next, with a range of online games that kept us all amused and entertained. Thank you to all those volunteers for their time and energy. A special mention to the 15 staff members who joined us for the evening, including a guest appearance by Mr. Cosentino who performed very well in charades. Of course, the night would not have been possible without every student who signed up, including a handful of Year 7’s and some backyard campers. Well done to you all.
Finally, thank you to our Vinnie President and Vice President, Agatha and Angela, who worked tirelessly to make this night happen. Once the idea to run the evening virtually was suggested they just ran with it, organising every aspect of the event. Thank you both for your fantastic leadership, passion and commitment to social justice.
We certainly hope to run this event next year back at school, but we are proud that we were able to make it happen this year, given the circumstances.
All monies will be collected once school resumes, including any sponsorship money you may have raised. I will send a reminder notice closer to the time.
And onto the Winner of the best Tent set up!
1st Place: Jordan Tissera - prize to be collected
2nd place: Ashley Arcigal - prize to be collected
Special mention: Emma Eager, Joshua Smith, Gabriella Brusco, the Xerri sisters, Mr Nathan, Ms Robert and Mr Robert!

Youth Academy and Youth Ministers
This week the Senior Youth Academy students joined the Year 10 Youth Ministry students to assist with liturgy development and presentation skills via the online environment. In groups, the Year 10s have spent the last two weeks working together to create a liturgy presentation using the content from the Conscience and Morality unit of work they have just completed. During 2019, the current Year 11 students gained much experience testing themselves by presenting liturgies to our feeder primary schools. Our Year 10 Youth Ministry students have missed out on these events this year. To assist this deficit, we joined the two year levels together twice this term to share the skills the Youth Academy students have gained. The Year 10s expressed their thankfulness having their presentations critiqued by their peers. The Year 11s also enjoyed sharing their skills. We are proud of the progress all the students have made in the online environment.
God bless

Aerobics
The Nazareth Aerobics team has continued training online twice a week throughout Term 3. Our Tuesday and Thursday afternoon Zoom sessions have turned into one of the highlights of our week as we catch up, socialise and complete a workout together. Last Tuesday, the team decided to take a break from exercise and have an online Zoom party. We incorporated a dress code (something yellow for RUOK? day), ate snacks together and played games over Zoom. It was so much fun and much needed for all! During the remote learning period, the Aerobics team has grown stronger and has developed an unbreakable bond of friendship across all year levels.
VET Music Industry Performance
We wish all the Units 3 and 4 students the best of luck for their upcoming external Performance exam.

Chamber Ensemble
The Chamber ensemble is aimed towards our advanced students trained in classical music.
Participants are given an opportunity to refine their technique and adapt it to ensemble performance at a high level of competency.
Tone quality, ensemble balance, practice strategies, music interpretation and stylistic awareness of the diverse historical periods in music are the essentials of ensemble collaboration.
