Term 3 Finish
I am looking for synonyms for 'unprecedented' in order to be able to describe this term. Unequalled, uncommon and unparalleled seem to be apt descriptions! I would like to congratulate all our students on their resilience and fortitude this term. Thank you to all the parents for the way you have been supportive partners in a very different way this year. Finally, a huge thank you to all the teachers and support staff. We have missed the daily buzz and warmth of being at school with our community and we are hoping for a quick return to school next term.
I would particularly like to commend all our Year 12 VCE and VCAL students. We started the term physically together but had to move back to online learning. You have all been extremely impressive in your dedication and diligence. There are some important events for Units 3 and 4 VCE students coming up at the start of next term, which I have described below.
GAT: Wednesday 7 October
All Year 11 and 12 students undertaking at least one VCE Units 3/4 subject must sit the General Achievement Test (GAT) on Wednesday 7 October from 10.00am – 1.15pm. This will be held in the College Gym and Auditorium. Students should arrive at school 30 minutes prior to the start of the GAT. Students should have pens, an eraser and a HB pencil with them.
Information about what the GAT is and how it affects student Study Scores, along with past papers is available from the VCAA website: https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/assessment/vce-assessment/general-achievement-test/Pages/index.aspx Extra information is on Simon>Knowledge Banks>Learning Handbooks and Forms> GAT
VCE Units 3/4 Trial Examinations
Year 11 & 12 students studying VCE Units 3/4 subjects have received a letter about the Units 3/4 Trial Examinations and the Trial Examination schedule. Performance on these compulsory exams – held at the College in the second week of term (Tuesday 13 October to Friday 16 October) – are the best guide to which areas of skill and content students need to focus on for Term 4 and leading up to the Units 3/4 examinations. The importance of the final VCE Units 3/4 examinations cannot be overstated, as all school-based results in every subject are moderated (changed) in line with the final VCE examination performances. The Trial Examinations, therefore, are invaluable in identifying areas that most need attention in studying from now until the final VCE examinations.
