From the Principal

It is with great pride that I introduce to you our College Captains for 2021. We look forward to all that Georgie Blevin and Hugh McGuire (Year 11) will bring to the roles, building upon the work of James Lund and Tenayh Powell (Year 12) this year and all Captains who came before them.

Ms Belinda Provis

Principal

From the 2021 College Captains Georgie Blevin and Hugh McGuire:

I am honoured to be one of your 2021 College Captains, and I know Hugh and I are both looking forwards to what lies ahead in the coming year. On behalf of the student body, our Student Council endeavours to give back to our community, motivating positive difference and inspiring cohesive involvement throughout the College life.

Being the youngest in a family of five, I am forever grateful for the joy and unwavering support I am blessed with; from my brothers' contrasting forms of banter and care, to my parents' and extended family's guidance and encouragement. When I set foot onto the College grounds in Year 4, I was immediately eager to explore the adventures that my older brothers talked of. In our school's welcoming spirit, I felt an immense sense of unifying warmth and creativity upon starting this new chapter. I fondly remember admiring the genuine care ASC staff had for their students, and the socially encompassing culture I found myself in.

The curiosities I had in this new environment drove me to immerse myself into the life of the College, where I realised the endless potential every, unique one of us is called to reach for. My interest in leadership sparked here, where I could make a positive impact on others. I further developed my huge passion for people through connections to Service, Sport and Academics, and through interactions with family and friends. Making memories and learning well-found morals have moulded the outlook with which I live.

I am so proud to be part of our extraordinary community at All Saints’ College, and strive to lead by example with authenticity. I will sincerely model student leadership as an amiable, dependable and kind-hearted leader. I want to uplift others to engage in various areas of interest – bringing personal flair alongside innovative, ambitious and inclusive energy to our boundless possibilities.

Previous College Captains have built up the legacy of our role with wisdom; holistically inspiring the student body to embrace their foundations. Thank you to James and Tenayh for being exceptional College Captains during 2020, a year of uncertainty and ambiguity. I admire their adaptability, enthusiasm and commitment to the College, and hope to continue this in 2021.

Georgie Blevin

It is always interesting looking back on a younger version of myself and realising just how much I have grown and changed. I couldn't have possibly predicted that I would be College Captain at All Saints' College; certainly not when I first arrived here as a Year 7 student in 2016. However, what I've discovered – what separates me from who I was and who I am today – is the journey I have walked since then. All the lessons learned, interests that have blossomed and goals created have all been part of my journey.

My time at All Saints' will forever be one of the most important aspects of my journey. The College has serviced as a support network where I feel safe in stepping outside my comfort zone and taking risks. It is here that I've connected with some of my biggest passions, in particular the dramatic arts in which I've found a platform that allows self-expression and creativity.

It is also here at All Saints' that I've flourished in leadership roles. I've been shown the power of unity and strength in the community that we are all a part of, and it makes me immensely proud to call myself an All Saints' student. As such, I hope to give back to this community as College Captain, to be part of making positive changes for the community, just as this year's College Captains, James and Tenayh, and those before them have done.

Above all, I want to be someone that the College and all of its members can be proud of - someone who takes on the values and the spirit of the College, no matter where I am or what position I am in. I look forward to taking the next step in my journey and discovering the challenges and lessons I'll encounter next, and I hope to be the sort of College Captain who paves the way for uniqueness and success for all All Saints' students.
