From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Keeping our students safe is not negotiable and achieving this is a team effort. I would like to thank the parents who notified the College about the alert from the eSafety Commission last week. The repercussions of this incomprehensible use of social media were widespread. Being aware and proactive in educating the whole community regarding eSafety is one of the many ways that we can work in partnership.

Our Counsellors have devoted their article this week to 'the benefits and risks of social media.' The article provides good advice to support you through a constantly shifting territory.

Links to join two eSafety monitoring lists are included below.  Keeping up with new technology can be difficult and I suppose the bottom line is that there will always be change and evolving social media is just part and parcel of that.

Parents and carers are welcome to sign up to the following eSafety monitoring lists if you would like to do so.

Visit www.esafety.gov.au and sign up to receive their email updates via the option at the bottom of the page). Or you can follow them on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

Visit www.safeonsocial.com and join their mailing list to receive email updates. You can also follow them on Facebook or Twitter.

It's still worth noting that some things will never change. A good cup of coffee or tea with a great friend trumps a Tik Tok any day, unless it's the biscuit!
