NSW CPS Rugby Union Championships

Last month Max Fernance represented Polding at the NSW CPS Rugby Union Championships in Hawkesbury. Polding competed against some extremely well drilled teams from Mackillop, North West, Sydney East, Sydney South West and Riverina. Max and his Polding team stepped up, beating both North West 40-0 and Riverina 17-10. They narrowly went down to semi-finalists Sydney East, Sydney South West and Mackillop in their pool games. This is a huge achievement for Max as he was competing against the best 12 year old rugby union players in NSW. Well done on such an amazing week of rugby.

Primary Diocesan Athletics Carnival

Our school athletics team competed at the Armidale Diocesan Athletics Carnival in Tamworth. All students competed extremely well against some strong competition from students from all over the Armidale Diocese. The following students have qualified to represent the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Athletics Carnival in Sydney.  George Kirkby (100m), Olivia Turner (100m, 200m), Alex Reardon (100m), Jack Gobbert (1500m, 800m), Caleb Scholl (1500m), Zara Cogan (100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m) and Jack Farrell (800m). Zara Cogan was also named Senior Girl Champion and Olivia Turner 11 Years Girl Runner Up. Well done to all our talented athletes who represented the school at the carnival and we wish our athletes all the best as they prepare for the Polding Athletics Carnival next term.

Secondary Diocesan Athletics Carnival

Our secondary athletics team competed at O'Connor Catholic College in Armidale. Many of our students narrowly missed out by the smallest of margins.

Both Sienna Ritchie and Max Newick have qualified to compete in Sydney on the 20th September, in Shot Put after throwing 7.84m (Sienna) and 9.65m (Max). The talent we have in our school continues to shine despite being a small cohort.
