Spring Fair and Mini Vinnies

Our Mini Vinnies and Secondary Vinnies crew are busy creating 'envirobags' using pre-loved t'shirts and are calling for donations of no-longer-worn t'shirts which will be transformed into bags.

Please send any unwanted t'shirts to school ASAP so Vinnies can get making.

We have been busy with the t'shirts donated so far.... but we need many more!

Vinnies bags will be available to purchase from the Spring Fair for $2 each.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation

Students who are eligible to enrol in the Sacrament of Reconciliation in Years 2, 3 and above have now done so. They will now be preparing during Religious Education lessons to receive this sacrament in Week 10 on Tuesday 24th September at 6:00pm.

The next rehearsal session for the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be on Sunday 22nd September at 10:30am, following Mass. This session will be repeated on Monday 23rd September at 3:30pm.

We thank you for continuing to be the first teachers in faith for your children, and we look forward to supporting you and your children on the sacramental journey.

Sacrament of Confirmation

On Sunday the 1st of September, students from St Philomena's, along with candidates from the wider Catholic community, celebrated with Bishop Michael Kennedy the final sacrament of initiation, the Sacrament of Confirmation.  Twenty  candidates received this sacrament, which was followed with a lovely morning tea. We congratulate all those who were confirmed on becoming full members of the Catholic Church and may the Gifts of the Holy Spirit continue to strengthen and nourish.

Sacrament of First Holy Communion

Students in Year 3 and above, who have received the sacraments of Baptism and Reconciliation, will soon be asked to enrol for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion (Eucharist).  Eligible students will receive an enrolment note in Week 10, which will need to be taken to one of the enrolment sessions at the beginning of next term (do not return the enrolment form to school).

This sacrament will be celebrated on Sunday 17th November 9:30am at St Francis Xavier Church, Moree.

Enrolment and Formation Sessions for this sacrament are as follows: Sunday 13th October, 10:30am  St Francis Xavier Church (repeated Monday 14th October, 3:30pm  St Francis Xavier Church).

Rehearsal session for this sacrament will take place on Sunday 10th November, 10:30am St Francis Xavier Church (repeated Tuesday 12th November, 3:30pm St Francis Xavier Church).
