Parent Student Teacher Conferences

It was again terrific to see so many parents and students working with teachers on Thursday. This is a key part of our improvement plan for student learning.  I particularly enjoyed meeting many families and talking about how their children were going in 2017. It is important that we all work together to help our students succeed.

Another key part of this process is increasing student voice, and involvement in the school. Our recent review found that we have a very strong and unique student leadership program for all extra curricula areas. I am very proud of this work by teachers and students.

An area that we will continue to work to improve is student voice in the classroom. I am currently holding student forums at all year levels to allow student input into our next level of teaching and learning improvement. Our students have already given us some great insights into how we can continue to improve our programs in these forums. Student leaders are involved in summarising the finding from the forums and will be presenting them to teaching staff.
