Expression of Interest -Community

Concord School has received the following information for your consideration.

 

We are seeking an individual to provide support in implementing a home-based cooking programme for our daughter - a young adult with intellectual disability (Down syndrome). Our daughter has participated in Certificate level 1 & 2 Food Handling and Preparation and has good basic level skills that will need to be adapted to the home environment.

 

It is anticipated that employment will be for three hours a week with a reasonable amount of flexibility to day and time of service provision being available. The service provider/support worker will need to have an ABN and be able to provide an invoice for service provision.

Training resources will be provided to assist the successful incumbent.

It is anticipated that this will be an ongoing, casual position.

The following Selection Criteria will need to be addressed:

 

Selection Criteria

The successful candidate must

  1. Have a First Aid certificate (Level 2)
  2. Have good communication skills and be able to adapt their language to allow for simple instructions.
  3. Have a good understanding of and skills in food preparation, handling and cooking, safety within the kitchen and food hygiene requirements.
  4. Be able to build a good rapport with the client.
  5. Have the ability to drive or catch public transport to attend sessions in a punctual manner.
  6. Have a current ABN and be able to provide an invoice for service provision.

Applicants that are deemed to meet the Selection Criteria will be contacted for an interview with the successful candidate being notified in writing by mid-January 2020. Unsuccessful candidates will also be emailed the outcome of the selection process.
