Faith at St Joseph's...

Westernport Catholic Parish Year 6 Confirmation Preparation
This Friday all Year 6 students from St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s will join together to celebrate a Confirmation Retreat Day together. They will begin the day by attending Mass with Father Shymon and then share a few activities together in mixed groups focussing on the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. They will have a shared lunch cooked by Matt. In the afternoon Bishop Tony Ireland will speak to the students and pass on his knowledge of the Sacrament of Confirmation and help the Confirmation Candidates prepare further for the big day on Sunday 24th July.
As a Christian community, we witness and recognise the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit alive and working within us throughout our life’s journey. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit, given to us in Baptism, enable us to live a good life.
At Confirmation, we accept these gifts and are challenged to develop them.
The evidence of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit can be seen in the ways we grow in the life of Jesus.
Living the Gospel
What messages are in Scripture?
The theme for the Slideshow is about how the scriptures found in the Bible provide us with messages for people in today's world. The 4 Gospel writers, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John retold stories of the life of Jesus in the section of the Bible called the New Testament. A big focus was on the Parable stories told by Jesus which always had a moral to the story for the people of the time to reflect on and respond through their actions in the community.
