Meet Melanie

Kia ora. I’m Melanie

I am dedicated to improving relationships between teens and their parents, and I've noticed a real lack of support for parents once their tamariki have grown up a bit. 

Which is ok when things are going well. 

However, there’s not a lot of support for the times when parents struggle with their rangatahi. 

So many parents I work with want to do better for their rangatahi. They want to improve their relationship. They want deep, robust communication.  Communication that lets them have tough conversations when they need to. But they don’t know what to say to be an effective guide in their rangatahi’s life. 

This is where the workshop Roadblocks to Communication ™ changes things. Every parent who has participated in this workshop has heard themselves use at least one of these roadblocks when they’ve been talking with their rangatahi.  

It’s eye-opening and it’s the beginning of change because when you know better, you begin to search for ways to do better.
