From the Principal

Concert - Roaring Rollins

The Concert is almost upon us with less than one week until the big night. Each grade has been working on an item to perform and we are hoping that we have large numbers in the audience to support the children. There is no doubt about the fact that the children love to perform in front of a live audience. There will be a staff performance to end the night which is always an event to remember! Doors open at 6.30pm with the concert starting at 7.00pm sharp. We have an amazing array of prizes on offer in the raffle which will be drawn on the night. We have a long list of generous sponsors and we ask that, where possible, you purchase from these sponsors as a way of saying thank you from our school community.

Just a reminder to parents that we ask you do not collect your child from our supervision area until after the concert is finished. This can cause disruptions to the acts yet to perform. Many thanks for your understanding in this matter.

We are aware that this is an exciting night for the students and they may need a little sleep in the following morning. Please do not worry if your child is a little late to school on the Friday morning- just remember to sign them in at the office upon arrival so we can account for everyone in case of an emergency.

Thank you - Father's Day Stall

Thank you to all the parents who have so kindly donated gifts for the Father’s Day stall and to the band of parents who again gave up their time to organise and conduct this event. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated group of volunteers to help us raise funds for our school. Money raised for this, and all other events this year, will go towards the construction of the new oval.

Book Week

Last Wednesday we had our annual Book Week Parade and Activity Day and what a day it was! Many thanks to Anna Zanghi for organising this fantastic event and for everyone for getting into the spirit of the day. Congratulations to the prize winners in each grade area.

Prep Information Evening

Last Monday we welcomed our new Prep parents for 2020 to our school. The Information Evening was a great success and I sincerely thank Silvana Trajanovska (Prep Leader) and all the Prep teachers for their presentation on the night- great job Team Prep.

Photos Students

Just a reminder to parents that photos of students (other than your own children) should not be used on any social media without their parents’ permission. Photos of students in school uniform should not be used on any social media without parent and school permission. If these permissions are obtained only first names should be printed (never surnames).Caution is always the best approach when using social media.

Raffle Books

Reminder that all raffle books need to be returned, sold or unsold, so we can account for every book distributed. It would be appreciated if they could be returned as soon as possible.

Scholastic Book Club

Thanks

Principal's Pondering

A Growth Mindset message...

Research has explained a growth mindset as ‘a willingness to confront challenges, viewing failure as a springboard for growth, and a passion for learning. Not surprisingly, this type of mindset is strongly linked to greater happiness and achievement in life.’ Children who are happy, comfortable, safe and confident have a greater outcome with learning and socialising.

Here’s a child friendly video as made by one of our communication apps, Class Dojo, that explains it brilliantly. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zrtHt3bBmQ
