SCIP Day Reflection

SCIP Day which was held last Monday and was a day where the Year 9s were able to reflect upon our experiences and time spent through the SCIP placements. We began the day by going to mass at St Joseph's church and listened to the Priest talk about the Story of the blind man and how Jesus healed him by saying “Your faith has healed you”. The rest of the day consisted of many activities, one of which that allowed us to think about the actions we did with our hands and how we were a helping hand towards the people we met through SCIP. Another activity we did was writing all our sins on newspaper and burning them in a fire to symbolize a new start and that we repented. We wrote anonymous thank you notes, showing our appreciation and gratefulness for the people in our year level as well as finishing off the day by watching the movie ‘The Sapphires’ and learning a little bit about our new topic - Right Relationships, which also reinforced the previous topics we learnt, discrimination and reconciliation.
