Naplan Update

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) will take place this year from Monday 10th May and Friday 14th May for student in Year 3 and Year 5. NAPLAN tests assess essential skills in reading, writing, language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. The assessment provides parents and schools with an understanding of how individual students are performing at the time of the tests.

Our Year 3 and Year 5 students have undertaken practise Naplan tests to familiarise the students with testing conditions to reduce possible stress and anxiety during the actual tests. The data from the tests enable our teachers to identify how students are currently tracking and they are able to use this data to support students in the classroom. If you have any concerns about your child participating in NAPLAN this year, please discuss this with your child's teacher. Further information about NAPLAN is included at the end of this newsletter.

Breakfast Club

Our Clyde Breakfast Club is back!

Due to popular demand, our Breakfast Club will be running on an additional day this term and is now open Tuesdays AND Fridays in the Foundation Building. Doors open at 8.15am.

We would not be able to run this program each week without our wonderful parent and teacher volunteers. Many hands make light work – and we are always looking for more people who would like to help. If this interests you, please contact the office for more information.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Mother's Day Celebrations

Our Mother's Day Stall will take place on Thursday 6th May and Friday 7th May. Classes will be allocated a day where they will be given the opportunity to shop for their mother, step mother, grandmother or any other special person in their lives. The stall is run by parent helpers who are there to help out the children on the day and gifts range from $1- $5.

The stall is not a fundraiser. Prices are set to cover costs only and does not make a profit. • Please note your child's class time below so you can send along some money. All money should be sealed in an envelope with your child's name on it. This envelope should then be given to your child's teacher at the beginning of the day.

A similar event will be held to celebrate Father's Day later this year on Friday 3rd September.
