Principal's Report

End of Term 1

As this is the final whole school newsletter for term 1, I would like to congratulate our students on the effort they have put into the quality of their work and the management of their behaviour.

It is a short term which has helped as our students can often become tired towards the end of an 11 week term. We will be having our first whole school assembly next Thursday, the last day of term 1, in the Gymnasium at the Bundoora Campus. This will be the first whole school assembly since 2019 so it is an event we are looking forward to.

Unfortunately parents/carers are unable to attend under the current COVID-19 Guidelines. We wish all of our students a happy and safe holiday break.

School Building Works

We are excited to announce that Law Architects have been appointed to design and oversee the process for our upcoming building works. Last year we communicated that Concord School had received $10 million in funding for a school upgrade. The planning process will commence in the next few weeks with construction anticipated to begin at this time next year. Thanks again to those parents who completed a survey last year which will inform these plans. We will keep you updated!

Bundoora Campus Café

Our new Café opened last week at the Bundoora Campus. It is currently only open to staff as the operational aspects of the café are being refined for next term when parents/carers will also be welcomed as customers.

Brooke Telford, our Café Manager, is overseeing the operation of the café with the assistance of two different Secondary 11/12 students each week. These students prepare the food and coffees and accept payments. Students will achieve their Food Handling Certificate and receive barista training.

From the first day of term 2, the Café will be open from 8.15-9.15am for parents/carers. We would love to see you ordering coffees and freshly made treats either before or after student drop off.

As the term progresses, the menu will expand its offerings and students will be provided with the opportunity to make purchases. Watch this space!

School Policies

The school policies have now been uploaded onto Compass. These can be accessed via Community/School Documentation/Policies.
