Performing Arts 2021
It has been a busy start to the year! It is a joy to hear the sounds of music through the halls after restrictions halted rehearsals for a time last year. Rehearsals are again in full swing with preparations for Open Night under way for Senior Concert Band.
We welcome to the Performing Arts team our new Dance/Drama teacher, Natalie Middlemast who brings with her expertise, performance skills and lots of energy!
Events that have highlighted February include:
The commencement of rehearsals for Senior Concert Band, Choir, Year 8 Concert Band, Stage Band, String Orchestra and Drama club. Aerobics rehearsals are to be confirmed and
Dance Extension runs on Thursdays at lunchtime.
Senior Theatre studies have enjoyed an excursion to the Frankston Cultural Centre to view the play “Lamb”. As part of their course, this performance will be part of their assessment.
We look forward to an active and enjoyable year that provides our Performing Arts students opportunities to perform and develop skills in theirs chosen area.

Year 12 Theatre Studies
Frankston Arts Centre – Lamb
On Thursday 25th February the Year 12 Theatre Studies class had the pleasure of visiting the Frankston Arts Centre to see Red Stitch’s production of Lamb written by Jane Bodie and featuring original songs by Mark Seymour. The students demonstrated our College Value of Community and Respect an represented Patterson River Secondary College with pride as they enjoyed the first live theatre performance in a long time!
MATILDA
PRSC Performing Arts students have been working hard throughout 2020 and now into 2021 to put together Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical. We are now getting to the final stages and can’t wait to perform this exciting work for the members of our school community.
The NEW DATES for our performances are: Thursday 22nd April, Friday 23rd April and Saturday 24th April 2021
