Welcome to Food Studies 2021

Our focus is to produce quick and healthy meals and snacks with an emphasis on health, skills and sustainability.

In this Newsletter we have Featured Year 8 with a sample of their French Toast, Free choice Remote Task and Hamburgers.

Year 10 – Exploring the Menu – Students focused on Finger Food and presentation skills by making Spinach Triangles, Sushi and Pizza Pinwheels.

Students also turned their skills to making Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday as a Remote Task.

Fruit Pastries with homemade Ice Cream allowed students to see how easy you can make a tasty and attractive dessert.

VCE Food Studies Unit 1 – Students focused on the origin of food from early agricultural food systems and made contemporary meals using the ancient ingredients. Students made an Ancient Grain Breakfast Cereal and an accompanying informative Cereal Box. VCAL students turned their skills to producing Crusty Mixed Seed Loaves.

We remind Year 7 & 8 students that the Food Studies Booklets are needed every lesson. Display Folders, paper and pens are needed for every lesson Year 9 - 12.

Containers are needed for Production sessions.
