EXCEL SPORT TESTING DAY

On Friday 12 February we had 76 current Year 7 students trial to receive a place in the Year 7 EXCEL Sport Program. The students participated in a range of competitive sports and fitness testing throughout the full day program. All of the applicants were extremely impressive and the decision to select 24 EXCEL Sport students was difficult. A big thank you to the Year 10 EXCEL Sport Class and Mrs. Brand, Mr. Cook, Mr. Clark and Mr. Love who gave up their time to assist in the selection process. Congratulations to the following students who were selected to be in the Year 7 EXCEL Sport Program 2021.

YEAR 10 SAILING

On Thursday 18 February, the EXCEL Sport class went to Mornington Yacht Club to experience sailing. For most students this was the first time they had learnt the technical skill and with favourable conditions for beginners, most students saw success instantly. The girls sailed in the morning and grasped the skills quickly, enjoying the friendly conditions to manoeuvre the boats. The boys remained on the beach training for an upcoming Beach Volleyball tournament and a Triathlon. After a BBQ lunch, the groups swapped over. Thank you to the Mornington Yacht Club who provided great learning conditions for the students to succeed and Mr. Cook for his vast experience in sailing.
