DIAMOND GIRLS

Springvale Lions Baseball Club are excited to announce the return of their “Diamond Girls Baseball Academy”! This fantastic and well-received program, supported by the City of Kingston Council and VicHealth, will be taking place on the four Friday nights in March. The Diamond Girls Baseball Academy is free and is designed to appeal specifically to teen girls. 

We have developed a modified version of baseball, to run a round robin style of game play. Supported by mini games, music, dinner and more – Diamond Girls Baseball Academy is not to be missed! 

The program is aimed at helping to increase female participation in baseball whilst also assisting in the development of valuable skills such as: 

  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Throwing and catching
  • Learning about the benefits of being part of a team and teamwork
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Resilience
  • Leadership
  • Development of social skills

Above all else – Diamond Girls Baseball is about having FUN! Diamond Girls Baseball is dedicated to helping girls find a passion for sport in a safe and enjoyable environment with an all-female coaching staff. No level of sporting experience or skill is needed: Diamond Girls Baseball is about supporting growth and development and celebrating all successes! 

 

Previously, Diamond Girls was invitation only with schools nominating selected students. Due to high demand, we have opened this invitation to ALL girls wanting to join in! 

 

The Academy will be a four-week program that will take place on the following dates:

5th, 12th, 19th and 26th March

All sessions will run on Friday evenings from 6.00pm at Springvale Baseball Club.

 

Not only will the program be free of charge for participants, they will also receive a free program hat and t-shirt to keep!

LYFT PROGRAM

BUTTERFLY YOUTH PROGRAM

Butterfly's Youth Program is a skills based group therapy treatment program

for young people aged 18-25 years. 

The program is based on Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT-E) and our clinicians are trained to work with young people living with body image issues and eating disorders. The program is currently delivered on Zoom and is open to anyone aged 18-25 years, anywhere in Australia.

 

In a safe, supportive and recovery-focused environment our trained clinicians will aim to help your client:

  • Develop skills to manage stress and emotions
  • Manage relationships
  • Increase mindfulness
  • Learn self-compassion
  • Improve body image
  • Reduce symptoms of their eating disorder
  • Build a healthier relationship with food.

The program runs for 2 hours per week for 12 weeks and can supplement treatments participants may be already receiving.

Next daytime program starts: 5 April, 2021

Next evening program starts: 22 March, 2021
