Assistant Principals' Report

February 2021

We have had a wonderful start to the school year. It was so exciting to be able to welcome students on-site and it is impressive to see students embrace the return to school in such a positive and studious manner in their classrooms.

We look forward to meeting all our students through a variety of ways either teaching you, school forums and events throughout the year.

Some of our goals for the 2021 school year include:

  • Continuing to develop strong literacy and numeracy skills in students, with strategies explicitly taught.
  • Students in the intervention programs increasing their levels of learning confidence and growth
  • Ensure all students receive the support they need to belong to the school community, engage purposefully in learning and experience academic success
  • Enable student voice and agency in their own learning by having students set goals and reflect on their progress
  • Give students regular and accurate feedback on their progress
  • Continued work on School wide positive behaviour (SWPBS)
  • School wide focus on Respectful Relationships
  • Focus on our school values and how we use them in our day to day life
  • Happy and healthy students with school clubs and extra-curricular activities

We are also focussing on students building positive relationships with the school Engagement and Wellbeing teams, I have highlighted below who is currently working in these areas and I encourage students to see their relevant Year level leader for help, support and advice.

School Engagement & Wellbeing Leaders

Just a reminder that the two sub-schools are led by:

  • Junior School Engagement & Wellbeing Leader (Years 7 – 9) : Meegan Triance
  • Senior School Engagement & Wellbeing Leader (Years 10 – 12):  Paul Meager

Both of these people have a fantastic team working with them as Year level Leaders:

  • Junior school year level leaders:

Year 7 Nick Heading

Year 8 Anthony Ellul

Year 9 Dimitra Matheou

  • Senior School Year level Leaders

Year 10 Sharyn Campbell

Year 11 Andrew Erickson

Year 12 Gus Mclean

Enjoy the weekend, stay safe
