A message from our Principal
Dear Parents
Thank you to the many parents who have either had face-to-face or phone meetings with their child's teacher this week. These meetings are so important to establishing positive parent/teacher relationships for the 2021 school year. If you were unable to speak with your child's teacher this week, please contact the school so an interview (phone or face to face) can be organised.
We have had 21 children qualify to attend the Regional Swimming Trials in Dubbo next Friday 12th March. Congratulations to Tom Hamer, Lachlan Simeonidis, Max Naylor, Beau Francis, Ryan Copeland, Flynn Wolfe, Cooper Jones, Gabe Barclay, Max Clements, Coco Barclay, Elena Noonan, Clara Klootwijk, Lara Glasgow, Indi Robinson, Milly Griffiths, Eliza Dowton, Maddox Phillips, Ella Pringle, Sophie Francis, Lachlan McClements, and Victoria Hetherington. We know these children will be fantastic representatives of Bathurst Public School and Bathurst District PSSA.
School Attendance - Our current attendance rate for children is 89.2%. As a reminder, parents are required to explain the absences of their children from school promptly and within seven days to the school. An explanation for absence must be provided to the school within 7 days of the first day of any period of absence. You can contact us in several ways: by phone, email, or Sentral parent portal.
School starts at 9.00 am every day. It is important that children are here every day to start at 9.00 am, or they lose valuable learning time. Children start with a 'Welcome Circle' every morning with their teacher which builds connection and sets the day up for what children will be doing. If your child is late, they worry as they are already concerned about where their class is, what they should be doing and what they have missed. Please ensure your child arrives at school before 9.00 am each day.
If any parent has any concerns regarding any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.
