National Servicemen's Day

On Sunday 14 February, the Annual National Servicemen’s Day Commemoration Service was held in Central Park. Sophie Troon, Nikolai Tursan d'Espaignet, Ema Suluma, Mr Fulloon and Ms Menz represented O’Connor to remember our fallen servicemen.

We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

Cupids Raise Money for Caritas

The tradition of raising money from our Year 12 cupids continues at O'Connor by sharing the love through presenting roses to students or staff for Valentines day. This year, the money raised for Caritas totaled $98.35.

Activities Fair

ENTERTAINING THE CROWD:  Jock Sweeney and Meg Lawry provided entertainment while the students chose looked around the stalls.

The sun came out after a short shower for our annual activities fair.  This marketplace environment with live music creates the opportunity for students to join the various clubs and activities on offer at the College. From Chess Club to Drama Club, Soccer to Horse Sports, there is something for everyone.

National Youth Science Forum - Elian Cotter

Thanks to her Rotary Club of Armidale Central sponsorship, Elian has recently been to the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) and will be attending the District Semi-finals which take place at Quirindi on 28th February.  The NYSF format has been adapted this year due to COVID restrictions involving a zoom component and a visit to Newcastle to explore laboratories at the University.

The Forum has given her a much clearer idea of her future in science, and even allowed her to find the university of her choice - the University of Queensland in Brisbane – where she hopes to pursue a biomedical degree leading towards postgraduate medical studies.
