Reflection Day and Relationships Day

Relationships Day was a nice way to end a long term. We were split into two groups, boys and girls. Us boys had two guest speakers come in to talk to us about various aspects of relationships, including expectations, what it means to be in a relationship and the commitments outlined with relationships. We had the opportunity to listen to stories of people’s current relationships and what it was like from past to present. Following this we were split into smaller focus groups and tasked with completing a trivia about various myths and common misconceptions about relationships to again help us better understand everything that comes with a meaningful relationship. Overall the speakers were very informative and relatable, which made it an enjoyable and worthwhile experience for everyone.

On Friday September 22nd the Year 12 Bradman students participated in "Year 12 Reflection Day" which was an opportunity for each cluster to ponder and reminisce about each student's individual journeys at CRC Sydenham. The day began with a talk from 2 past students, Doreen and Maddison- who encouraged the year 12s to persevere during the final weeks of schooling. Following that, the Bradman cluster participated in the finishing of their cluster crosses, and brainstormed their significant life experiences that have shaped their senior secondary school journey. It provided the Bradmanites an opportunity to reflect on how far they've come in their schooling, and also create goals for their future beyond the college. The day concluded with student affirmations to one another, followed by a liturgy lead by the Bradman student leaders.

Cluster Sport

This year has not been a successful one on the scoreboard for the Bradman Cluster but sport is more than that. We have had a great year on the field as we have developed a team bond that has seen us win spirit points on a number of occasions. Whilst the scores are often not in our favour, it has been great to see so many people get involved whether it be on the court or cheering from the sidelines and we look forward to seeing that continue into 2018.

Year 12 Reflection and farewell

It’s been a huge year for the year 11’s, but an even bigger year for the year 12’s. This year marked our final year of our high school journey. From Orientation Day, to Cluster Retreat, to losing most of our Cluster Sport games and to Graduation, we have all grown into unique characters. Right before our trial exams, the year 12’s spent their last reflection together as a cluster. The day involved a number of past year 12’s who shared their journeys and advice, a reflection of our goals and giving positive affirmations to one another. Now, the year 12’s are preparing for our exams and for life. The year 12’s have made new relationships, new friends, learnt their strengths and weaknesses over the last two years of our senior schooling. It’s been a very busy year for all of us and I wish everyone the best for all their future endeavours!

A message from the Coordinators...

This group of Year 12 Bradman Graduates are truly special. It has been an honour to work with them, teach them and watch them grow into responsible young adults. Whilst putting together the commemorative video for Reflection Day, it became apparent the bonds students have formed, the way they have exceeded the Cluster values and the impact they have made on the school. We wish these students all the best in their exams and in everything the future holds for each and every one of them. You have made us very proud over your two years here - keeping striving for the best!
