Carmela D'Amato

Welcome

This week our students will be spending time in their classrooms setting up routines, going through the school rules, establishing positive relationships and setting up their prayer space and routines. Prayer is a very important part of St Fidelis'. We take any opportunity to give thanks for the wonders around us, ask for forgiveness when needed, pray for our loved ones to keep them safe. We start each day with prayer time and take the time to set up our prayer space. An important aspect of this space is our prayer cloth.  Each class will be working on personalising their prayer cloth as a committment to God, themselves and each other. Please take the time to go and see the creations that start to emerge.

SOCIAL JUSTICE DAY

Over the past four years, St Fidelis' school has made a commitment to deepen our awareness of Social Justice. As a staff we have taken the time to develop our understandings of the Catholic Social Teachings  through various professional development days and making a commitment to embed these teachings into our planning. Throughout the last two years, we have also included the student leadership roles of Social Justice Leaders who have led various fundraising campaign as well as  raising Social Awareness through how we treat each others, the world and ourselves.

On Friday 9th February, the whole school will be involved in a Social Justice day where we will be unpacking the 7 Catholic Social Teachings that have been established through CARITAS Australia. Each class will be introduced to the Catholic Social Teaching definition and will participate in an activity.   Keep an eye out for some of these activities which will be displayed around the school.
