FareShare
On June 28, a group of Nossal students across various year levels and myself attended a FareShare excursion. Upon our arrival at the FareShare kitchen in Abbottsford, we were educated on serious issues regarding under privileged individuals whom experience food insecurity.
FareShare's objective is to rescue food that would otherwise be wasted and to cook and distribute nutritious meals to people in need. After our induction we were all set to begin preparing meals, our task was to make quiche. Within our three hour session we made an astounding 1680 quiche, diced 50kg of mushrooms, packed 1900 meals and prepared many shells.
It was a valuable experience to be able to help those in need and to work in an efficient team environment. The day was a huge success.
