GO Syndal!!!

F-2 Swimming

A HUGE thank you to all the parents who helped out with the walk and in the change rooms. Without your support we couldn't run such an important program.

It was fantastic to see the students enjoying themselves and learning such vital skills in such a friendly environment. THANK YOU!!!

On-Road Bike Test

Congratulations to the Year 4 cohort on the successful completion of their Bike Ed Test. They had to ride a 2km course on their own, remembering all the road rules and bike handling skills they have been practising over the last 3 terms. A particular thank you to Ms Potter and Alec Blaber who have been assisting with the sessions all year, and to the many parents who responded to our plea for more helpers - we could not have run the program without your support. Despite the testing traffic conditions, including Montgomery Ave partially closed due to a burst water main in front of our school,  the kids demonstrated great confidence as they completed the course.

Completing the course successfully does not guarantee their ability to ride on-road. Road safety authorities recommend that children under the age of 12 should not be permitted to ride in any traffic environment without the supervision of an adult.

With the school holidays fast approaching, it is a timely reminder to us all about the importance of wearing helmets, bike maintenance and general bike safety and traffic awareness.

Bike Ed Challenge Champions

CONGRATULATIONS to our School Bike Ed Team, who took out the District Bike Ed Challenge held at St Christophers earlier this week. The team had to complete a variety of challenges including; a bike roadworthy assessment, conducted by Dicky from Waverley Cycles, a slalom circuit, tight turns, a minefield & a figure of 8 team challenge. Huge thanks to parent Nicki for assisting us on the day.

F-2 House Sports

Our Foundation - 2 students have been busy preparing for the F - 2 House Sports being held next Friday 6th December at school. The House Sports are a fun and colourful way in which to finish the school year in a sporting sense. Students are encouraged to wear their school House colours. During our PE sessions we have been trying to run faster, throw further and jump longer so that we can earn points for our House in a fun and friendly competition. The event is being organised by our Year 5/6 students who are currently planning and preparing during their PE sessions.

School Sport Vic State Teams

SSV will once again be offering the opportunity for students with emerging talent from Syndal South to register to trial for School Sport Victoria Team Vic State Teams in 2020.

Registrations to trial open on Sunday 1st December 2019 and remain open until Sunday 1 March 2020 for Boys Australian Football, Netball, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, and Boys Football (Soccer).

The following supporting documents will assist you in understanding the process for registration:

 1. Team Vic Big 5 process letter for parents and teachers

2. Team Vic Big 5 nomination letter to parents (for a maximum of 3 students per team)
