Prayer:  Our Lady Help of Christians

As we have celebrated our Queen’s Birthday weekend, let us celebrate the Queen of our Church in Australia, Our Lady Help of Christians, whose Feast Day was at the end of last month.  So we pray:

Most Holy Virgin Mary, Help of Christians,

how sweet it is to come to your feet

imploring your perpetual help.

If earthly mothers cease not to remember their children,

how can you, the most loving of all mothers forget me?

Grant then to me, I implore you,

your perpetual help in all my necessities,

in every sorrow, and especially in all my temptations.

I ask for your unceasing help for all who are now suffering.

Help the weak, cure the sick, convert sinners.

Grant through your intercessions many vocations to the religious life.

Obtain for us, O Mary, Help of Christians,

that having invoked you on earth we may love and eternally thank you in heaven.

EREA School Choice Parent Survey

Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) are conducting a Survey of all of their fifty plus schools and ministries across Australia and are interested to know the reason behind your choice of St Pius X  College as the school for your son. Your feedback is very important as, being a member school of EREA, it will help us to plan for the future.

The link to the Survey will be emailed today, along with an explanation. The link will be open from Wednesday 13th June until Thursday 28th June 2018. The Survey should only take between 5–10 minutes.  Once all member schools have completed the Survey we look forward to sharing the results with you.

Thank you again for the time taken to give such feedback to help EREA plan well for the future.

Years 5 to 10 Learning

After a long weekend break our young men have resumed for a shorter but equally as full Week 7.  Assessments continue as our staff are in the midst of marking and report writing to provide such vital feedback for Years 5 to 10. This is a very profitable time for our students who receive worthy praise, affirmation and re-direction to ensure their ongoing journey of learning.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Our commitments to our varying extra-curricular activities resume this weekend with the ISA, IPSHA and CSDA powering along as we pass the mid-season point. We are fortunate to be members of such associations that provide well organised competition.

We wish all our teams well this coming weekend and especially our ISA Rugby Teams who venture across the mountains for fixtures against Kinross Wolaroi, Orange. Do travel safely and certainly pack your warm clothes.

Staffing

We farewell Mr Luke Barbour from the College this Friday.  After a period of leave, in which he has considered his future, Mr Barbour has decided to move out of the Education Sector and into the IT field.  We wish Mr Barbour well in his new career.

This week we also welcome Mr Nick Cook to the College.  Mr Cook joins the English Department and the Year 10 Pastoral Team.
