2018 ISA Cross Country Results – Boys
Congratulations to all boys who participated and gave their best competing for the College at the annual ISA Cross Country Carnival at Sydney Equestrian Centre. We managed to miss the downpour of rain that hit Chatswood and the team competed in perfect cross country running conditions. The St Pius team had trained for five weeks leading up to the Carnival and our early morning before-school runs helped us gain solid individual and team results.
Thank you for the support of Miss Ho, parents and Captain Jamie Miller.

Dear Parents and Players,
Please check the times and locations carefully for this weekend’s fixtures, there have been some minor changes.
Over the past few weekends, travel times to Oxford Falls have been heavily impacted by road works so please leave additional time to get to the venue.
Good luck to all teams.

Kinross Wolaroi School, Orange - 16th June 2018
It has been confirmed that all teams will play at Kinross, including the 13Cs who play against the Scots School. If you son requires transport via coach they need to add their name to the list on the admin veranda. This coach will depart Chatswood at 6:30am and return at the completion of the 1st XV match.
Often parents take the opportunity to have a weekend away and the rugby committee have organised a dinner on Friday evening at the Lord Anson which is located opposite the Orange Ex-Services Club. Please be aware that the College photo day will be held on Friday 15th June and no students will be granted early leave to travel to Orange until after lunch on that day.
Finally, can I remind parents of their son’s commitment to the rugby season, which includes this weekend’s trip to Orange. Appointments or other commitments should not be made on training afternoons or on Saturdays. It is not fair on team mates or the oppositions when some players pick and choose during a season.

SPX RUGBY CLUB DINNER – FRIDAY EVENING, 22ND JUNE 2018 – ROSEVILLE GOLF CLUB
Dear SPX Rugby Supporters,
Tickets are now on sale for the SPX Rugby Supporters’ Club Dinner to be held from 7pm on Friday, 22nd June at the Roseville Golf Club.
Come and enjoy a great night of fun and entertainment and help raise funds for our rugby playing sons. This link https://www.trybooking.com/385301 will take you directly to the Trybooking Ticketing Site
We are delighted again to have former Wallaby, current Rugby Australia Elite Coaching Development Officer, and Fox Sports’ personality, Rod Kafer as our MC for the evening.
Also, we are very fortunate to have a very special guest speaker for the evening - Mick Byrne, the current Australian Wallabies’ skills coach, and former New Zealand All Blacks’ skills coach. Mick knows both Aussie and Kiwi rugby in detail and has stories to tell!
Tickets are $150 per head (unchanged from last year), which includes canapes and drinks on arrival, a three course meal with wine and beer, great entertainment, live auctions, silent auctions, raffles and lucky door prizes.
This year, every ticket holder who books their ticket by Tuesday, 12 June will go into a draw for a chance to win the ‘Golden Lucky Door Prize’ of $500 in cash, drawn at the dinner. Book early and win!
The dinner is the Rugby Club’s principal fund raising event for the year and we rely on your support at our dinner to raise the money needed to fund initiatives that improve your son’s Rugby development and enjoyment in ‘our’ game that also forms life-long friendships which our boys will develop through their involvement in SPX rugby.
Again, this season the Rugby Club has budgeted to spend in excess of $50,000 to assist the College in the further development of the rugby program, in both the Senior and Junior Colleges – including funding the Rugby Development Officer and 7 external assistant rugby coaches, provision of physiotherapy services at our home games; financial support for College touring squads (Opens – Gold Coast Tour; Under 15’s – New Zealand Tour; Prep First XV – Armidale TAS Tour); filming and analysis of games; and, financially supporting students’ referee accreditation courses.
Support your sons. Enjoy a great night out. We look forward to seeing you at the SPX Rugby Dinner! Full details can be found in the flyer below.

Paul O’Neill (on behalf of the SPX Rugby Supporters’ Club Committee)

This weekend will see all teams playing against a strong Oakhill side. Please take note of the slight change of the draw (not against St Pat’s, as per an earlier version of the draft). See the draw below.
At the half-way point in the season our SPX teams are playing well, particularly Division 5 who are currently ranked in first place, Division 7 in second and Division 9 in third place of the ISA competition. Be sure to check the ISA website for all the leader-board updates.
