Senior Boys Tennis

Senior Boys Tennis

On Monday 24th February our senior mixed tennis team consisting of 10 male students and one brave female student set off to Wantirna Tennis Club for our district round robin competition. We split our players into two teams, Wantirna A and Wantirna B. On the day we played two teams from Upwey High School and one team each from Rowville East and Fairhills. After not losing a single round the A team won through to play in a semi final ultimately winning that while our B lost in the other semi final. This set up a grand final for Wantirna A with the Rowville East tennis academy team, or team played brilliantly on the day and held their own against players with professional rankings, however, ultimately we came short of a win. Under the circumstances second place was a fantastic effort. All players displayed exceptional sportsmanship on the day and represented themselves and their school in a manner they should be proud of. A special mention must go to Isabella Davison who played and defeated several male players on the day all the while suffering a back injury. A big thank you to Nathan Hocking's grandma for her devoted support and assistance throughout the entire day.  Looking forward to seeing the year 11 players return next year, and to the year 12 players all the best for your sporting endeavours in the future. Congratulations to all!
