Mooroopna Music

We are doing well with recruitment at the Mooroopna campus with a number of students signing up for, or continuing, with strings, woodwind, piano, voice and guitar. We are still in need of percussion and brass students at Mooroopna.

 

Students at the McGuire Campus will have the opportunity to sign up for an instrument this term and are currently finding out about the program. We are hopeful that there will be keen interest in both Band (woodwind, brass, percussion) and stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass). Piano and voice are also offered.

Australian Ballet

Places” was the end product of a two-week intensive workshop with the Australian Ballet and GSSC students from Years 7 to 12. In lieu of a live performance due to Covid-19, the students were filmed at various locations around town last term to show connection to their "Place" - Shepparton. 

 

The video features original music from the ballet company's First Nations Cadet, Amy, and the students were taught traditional Indigenous movements during the workshop:

These students were looking at air pressure and the difference between hot air and cold air on bubbles.
