Health and Physical Education

It has been nice to start the year in somewhat normal fashion and begin to plan some of the exciting activities that we have to offer in our Health and Physical Education curriculum.

Our Year 8 Physical Education classes will begin their Lifesaving program in the next couple of weeks. They will have the opportunity to head down to Mentone Beach during their allocated Physical Education lessons and learn some of the many skills associated with lifesaving and beach water safety. Let’s hope we have some great weather coming up!

Our Year 9 Outdoor Education elective classes are preparing for a few fun adventures over the next term, including a unit on bike riding which will lead up to a great excursion of a day out bike riding.

This week (7 to 13 February) is ‘National Healthy Lunchbox Week’. This is an initiative of Nutrition Australia and it aims to inspire Australian families to create healthy and enjoyable lunchboxes.

As part of 'National Healthy Lunchbox Week', we have been running a competition for the healthiest lunchbox. Students put themselves in the running to win a $30 Rebel Sport voucher, by taking a picture of their healthy lunchbox. Here is a sample of some of these amazing healthy lunchboxes.

The winner will be announced next week on SIMON.
