From the Principal

Welcome to our School Newsletter for Week 1, Term 1.

It is my privilege and honour to write this first newsletter of the new school year as the new Principal of Peterborough High School. I am looking forward to meeting the parents, students, and members of the Peterborough Community over the next year. In my first few days I have been very impressed with the welcoming and friendly nature of our students who have went out of their way to make me feel welcome.

I am joined here with a fantastic leadership team who continuously strive to drive improvement and enrich student learning experiences. On Wednesday we welcomed four new teaching staff to PHS who we will introduce in the next newsletter. The new teachers are Douglas Fraser, Vincent Vella, Cenise Macdonald and Brittany Dunchue.

Week 1 was an incredibly short week for us here at PHS. On Wednesday we welcomed our new Year 8 cohort to Peterborough High School and we are looking forward to working with and getting to know  them over the next year. Next week we will be holding our first Governing Council Meeting and AGM on Wednesday 3rd February. The role of Governing Council members will be an exciting and transformational one in 2021. We have many important decisions to make including the preparation of Year 7 students to High School. I value the voice of parents and caregivers as we evaluate progress and improvement priorities.
