Community Group News

Welcome back to 2021, this is our first entry into the newsletter after our first meeting for 2021. The community group was finally able to meet in person and via zoom for the last meeting. Having both ways to meet was great as it allowed more people to attend.

Social/School Events

Our welcome back lunch was a great success with many parents showing up to share a meal and stories of their first day back (along with the holiday fun had by all). We plan to do these each term so look out for the notification before the end of the term. We had a welcome cuppa on the first Wednesday back. It was good to talk to parents who we haven’t meet or seen in a long time. Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) was planned to go ahead but unfortunately, we were unable to make it happen due to restrictions. The community group is working with the office to try and make a special pancake day happen later on. Ladies' night (12th March) and Men’s Night (26th March) are coming together. More information soon, so watch this space.

Fundraising

This term we have Zooper Dooper days. These will be organised on hot days (maximum of 2 per week). Cost is 50c per Zooper Dooper, with money going towards extra-curricular items (like last year's Chess Sets, Books etc etc). Our term fundraiser will again be the Easter Raffle. We will be asking for donations soon so watch this space for details. Raffle books will go home in March, with tickets $1 each. During the school holidays on Sunday 11th April, we are looking for helpers to man stations at the Triathlon. We need around 28 people doing shifts starting from 5 am through to the end of the day. A form will be published from the office for volunteers to complete. This is a great fundraiser and we always get great feedback from the organisers about our contribution. If you would like more information please contact the office.

Pastoral Care

This year you will notice that there are no classroom delegates. These have moved to a new title of pastoral care delegates. Renee heads up our Pastoral Care team. We are looking for others to join in to help out when needed. We also have Raathika and Glenda looking after our foundation area, which is great. If you or a family you know need any help please let us know. We can organise a meal or two, or just even a like-minded parent to talk to if you need. As always the community group is looking for parents/grandparents who are interested in helping out throughout the year or coming along to a community group meeting to share your ideas. If you would like more information please feel free to contact the school or Matt on 0417 590 564.
