Students have settled very well into Term 2. It is pleasing to see that most of them are taking a positive approach to their learning and are using time effectively and productively. It is also pleasing to see some students realising the need for extra help and attending Homework Club and Maths Assist – keep it up!

Uniform Appearance

As I stand in Assembly on Mondays, I am always pleased to note how well the students present themselves. Overall, the students are in proper school uniform, looking smart and clean. It is wonderful to see that they are taking pride in their appearance. They were reminded, however, that parkas are an optional item and cannot be worn without the blazer underneath.

Social Media

I encourage parents to continue to monitor their child’s use of social media. It is a great tool; however, the developing brains of teenagers still need guidance and rules. Please do talk to your child about what they are doing on social media sites and encourage them to always THINK.

T – is it truthful?

H – is it hurtful?

I – is it inspiring?

N – is it necessary?

K – is it kind?

Mrs Crisara introduced this acronym to all students at the start of the year. It is an easy one to remember and students should be reminded to have a think about the answers to those questions before they post anything online.

House Athletics Day

The Dunhelen House Athletics Day went very well and student behaviour and encouragement of each other was great. The final results were; Clarke - 2,351 points, Brodie - 2,540 points, Cameron - 2,781 points and first place was Millar with 2,808 points. A great effort from all Houses. A big thank you to all the staff, in particular, Mrs Wachter and Mrs Dowling for organising the day.
