Teaching and Learning

Term Four has started well with a camps, retreats, excursions, expos and students completing SAC’s and revising for exams. There is lots happening at St. Joseph’s, with Term 4 an extremely busy time for all.

Some key dates and events over the next few weeks are detailed below.

Year 12 Exams

Wednesday saw the smooth start to the VCAA November exams with VCE students completing the English Exam. We wish all our students success over the coming weeks as they undertake the rest of their exams.

Year 10 and 11 Exams

Students in Years 10 and 11 will commence on Monday the 18th of November and conclude on Friday the 22nd of November. They will be completing exam revision in the week before exams and it is important that students prepare well for these exams as they provide important practice for their Year 12 exams in future years.

Step-Up to VCE Program

Preparation for VCE will start on Monday the 25th of November with the Step-Up to VCE Program for all students undertaking VCE in 2020. This program will introduce students to their Unit 1 and Unit 3 subjects, providing a start to their coursework and an introduction to their holiday homework. Students will need to ensure they have their VCE textbooks for the Step-Up Program. Textbooks ordered through Campion will be available for collection at school on Friday the 22nd of November.

Step-Up to VCE Parent Information Session

This year we have introduced a Step-Up to VCE Parent Information Session for parents of students undertaking a Year 12 subject in 2020. 

When: Monday 25th of November from 6-7pm (First day of the Step-Up Program)

Where: Hall

Why: Year 12 is a stressful time for both students and parents. This session is designed to give parents a greater understanding of what is expected in VCE and how to support your student during this year to achieve their best result.

How to achieve success in VCE English. 

Final Dates for students in 2019

Year 10 AEP students: Friday the 15th of November. AEP students will undertake their final week of work placement during the Year 10 and 11 Exam Period.

Year 10 & 11 students undertaking VCE in 2020: Thursday the 5th of December (Last day of Step-Up Program).

Year 10 and 11 students undertaking VCAL in 2020: Friday the 15th of November.

Year 7, 8 & 9 students: Wednesday 11th of December.
