Performing Arts

In Performing Arts the Junior students are learning about beat and rhythm in music. They have been exploring the difference between musical and non-musical sounds, differentiating between loud and soft, high and low and taking part in active listening. They will also be learning how to follow the rhythm in music and play along using egg shakers and wooden spoons.

In the Middle/Senior classes the students have been introduced to chair drumming. They have been learning about the basics of stick control and correct drumming techniques. In the coming weeks, they will also be learning some drumming play-along rhythms.
