Myrniong - ELC to Yr6

Year 12 Return Assembly

On Wednesday, the Junior School students and staff welcomed back to Myrniong our 14 ex-students who will be graduating as part of the 2020 Year 12 cohort. Many started their journey way back in ELC-4 and Prep. Their teachers - Mrs. Templeton, formerly Miss Welton (Prep), Miss Ross (Year One and Year Three), Mrs. Milich (Year Two), Mrs. Simons (Year Four), Mrs. McKinley (Year Five) and Mr. Churchill (Year Six) all gave messages of good luck and shared some fond memories of their time with the students. They were presented with a copy of their Year Six Positive Affirmation certificate from 2014,  a collection of photographs and a graduation bear by our Prep and Year One students. As a group they have greatly added to the legacy and story of the Junior School. One of the mantras of the New Zealand All Blacks is ‘Better people make better All Blacks’. With this particular group of Year 12s, it is true to say ‘Better people make better Collegians’. We wish them all the very best for their upcoming VCE exams and life after College.

Spoonville

The Piccino, Year Two and Year Three students have been busily making and designing spoons to feature in their ‘Spoonville’ village. They have been creating characters, some based on fictional characters and some that they have imagined.  It was an idea that came out of lockdown with the purpose of bringing some positivity and giving people something to smile about during a challenging time. There are certainly some creative children and teachers at the Junior School.

2021 Diary Covers

Congratulations to Ruby Price, Finlay Hunt and Jack Wallis whose artworks were selected to be on the front and back covers of the 2021 Junior School diaries. Mrs Cameron and Mrs Addinsall had a tough job selecting from such a high-quality field of entries. They could not split Jack, Finlay and Ruby’s fine work, so all will find a place in the 2021 Diaries. Well done to everyone that entered. I am very much looking forward to seeing the finished product.
