Fodder Production Continues
Our silage production has come to an end and hay production is about to commence. Students and staff have been busy for a number of weeks with this task and the results have been impressive across all of our fodder production paddocks.
Water Allocation
Our water allocation remains a concern and the College as a whole will need to invest time into solutions that we can use to address this most pressing matter.
Certificate lll in Agriculture (2021)
Year 11 students are reminded that application forms for Certificate III in Agriculture are due. They will not be considered for enrolment in this qualification for 2021 if an application form is not received.
Shearing
Next week we will be attempting to complete some more shearing. Students are asked to be prepared with long pants as this is subject to weather conditions and Mr Adams schedule. At this point in time it is difficult to lock down the exact date.
Equine
We will be having the horse dentist visit Equine on Friday 6th November. Any Friday Farm student interested in this activity should see Mr Dyson so they have a place reserved for them.
First Aid Course Catch-Up
Any Year 11 students who have not completed their First Aid course will do so over the coming two Wednesdays. Please be prepared for this activity with pens and paper.
Offsite Visit
On Thursday 5th November a group of Year 10 students will visit Patane Produce to view their operations. We envisage this to be an excursion of around two hours in length and run over three separate weeks, with a third of the students going each week. Mrs Howell is emailing out a permission form for this. Please complete this form at your earliest convenience and return to the College as soon as possible.
