Design and Technology

Year 12's

Congratulations to the following Year 12 Design and Technology students who have been nominated for possible inclusion in Shape 2020, the annual exhibition of a selection of exemplary Major Projects developed by HSC Design and Technology students.

  • Dion Aryana
  • Nicholas Juraszek
  • Angus Wheeler
  • Jeremy Marchant

If selected, the students project will be on exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS), Sydney, from 26 February to 9 May 2021.

Dion designed a housing space for disabled residents that can be easily and efficiently placed in a backyard in order to give residents independence while giving them support from family.

Nicholas created a shorter more efficient path for pedestrians to access either Gordon East or Killara High areas. In constructing this path Nicholas must evaluate the land and the elevations to which these two suburbs are located. Additionally to this, he must thoroughly understand the properties of materials and related mechanics towards this project.

Angus planned, researched and designed a housing complex suited for individuals with a disability, ultimately to improve wellbeing and quality of life. It aims to benefit the community and the environment through sustainable building techniques and features, to cater for the ever-changing trend embraced by society.

Jeremy designed and created a shoe that perfectly fits the client’s foot at a lower and more affordable price. By using a 3d scanner to get the foot geometry he then created the shoe using CAD and finally 3d printed using recycled material.

Well done students!
