Gymnastics

Year 8 student Cassidy Nguyen competed in her first international gymnastics competition last week. Despite all the changes to how sports were conducted during this year of COVID, she continued to train at home online and when permitted, back on the mat socially distanced.  

All competitions in Australia this year were cancelled, however she was invited to attend online in Las Vegas in the US Open championships, competing against 30 gymnasts from America , Mexico and Australia. All gymnasts filmed and submitted one routine of choice via video which was judged live via zoom. 

Cassidy managed to come 4th overall for her ball routine, and first out of all the Australian gymnasts competing. See photos below from last years event.
