So Long Farewell

A year ago around this time, I was taken for a tour of the internals of the Centre.  With my steal cap boots, vest and hard hat I eagerly walked over with the Site Manager and school team.  Seeing an abstract representation of a building in 2D form to seeing it in real life is simply remarkable.

What resonated in my heart during this tour was not the bricks and mortar nor the intricate carpentry but the potential this building would hold for being a safe and welcoming place for all those who walked through the front doors.

In 2013, I felt God prompt me to write the following:

"Our Centre will have a sense of something eternal, unexplainable, a drawing sense of belonging and unconditional love.

Our Centre will be known as a safe place of refuge and acceptance because God first loved and rescued us.

Even if it is not understood, our purpose will be to nurture, correct in love, support our families in all areas that we can and help ground our children to become all God has prepared in advance for them to do."

At this point in my career I had no idea where this 'Centre' was and would have never imagined it coming to fruition.  But it has in this community - 'Curiosity Early Learning Centre.'

In our first year at Curiosity, there are many things we can celebrate as a community.  Amongst a worldwide pandemic that has changed the way we do life in many ways, there has been a drawing sense of security that God has been walking us through each decision we have made.  Rather than approaching disappointments as set backs we have seen them as opportunities to evolve, improve and simply be all we can with the resources and energy available to us.

Our values of love, optimism and creativity ground us as a community to express God's best for us in all we do and how we approach life.  To love when it seems hard, to live out of an abundance and gratitude and to try new things with the collective creativity that each of our team and children possess.

My prayer for each of us is that 2020 will be known more for the growth and beauty of us coming together as a community than the challenges COVID 19 has presented us.  As we near the end of our year, I truly am grateful for each of you.  Thank you for trusting in us and for your encouragement throughout our inaugural year.  It certainly has been a year to remember!

Bless you,

Jacqui
