Next week is Naidoc Week. We will be celebrating throughout the week with a whole school art activity and focus lessons in the classroom. We will share our learnings in the assembly next week led by our faith and justice leaders. Here is a brief description about Naidoc week and why we celebrate it.

Merry Christmas Family Task

For the last 5 weeks of term your homework is a family task. Each family is asked to create their own Christmas Angel.

The term angel literally means “messenger,” and it is in this prominent role that angels take part in the Christmas story.

An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.'

The artwork can be a picture, painting or a sculpture (3D angel that stands alone). The materials you choose to use can’t be purchased, you may however beg, steal (as long as you ask) or borrow the materials you need. You can use things you already have,  think of how you can recycle materials you have at home. Christmas Angels are due the week beginningMonday 23rd November. This is so that all the Angels can be displayed during the final days of term. All Angels will need to be taken home by the children during the last few days of term.

Task rules

  • One Angel per family.
  • Recycled materials to be used - materials should not be purchased. (please try)
  • The christmas Angel can be any height/width of up to a maximum of 1 Metre. (remember you have to transport it to school)
  • 2D Angel images should be a maximum size A2 this is 420 x 594mm

Enjoy making your Angel, we can’t wait to make St Brigid’s all ready for Christmas. '
