Curriculum at St John Vianney's
At St John Vianney's our students engage in an inquiry each term based on a rich concept. This term's concept is 'IDENTITY'.
Each concept has its own conceptual statement which guides the levels in their inquiry for the term.
The term 1 concept statement reads:
Students will have a deeper understanding of self and recognise the importance of connecting to and accepting others in a multi-faith community.
Our faith based inquiry curriculum is influenced by our Catholic faith with the formation of the whole child. Learning is designed to help learners develop their knowledge, skills and understandings in all other learning areas.
A key aspect of our curriculum is to challenge our learners to explore and consider deep questions, and big ideas. These questions centre around key issues, enabling our learners to interpret and make meaning about their lives, their world and their religious traditions. This integration of life, culture and faith, helps the students make meaning about themselves, their faith and their world.
