Team Leader's Message
Although it has been quite a tumultuous time recently, we have had a fabulous start to the school year and I have been proud of the way that everyone settled into their new routines quickly and the scene is set for a terrific year ahead.
The VET programs commenced at the start of February and we are pleased to have our students access such a variety of courses. These include Kitchen Operations, Sport and Recreation, units from Furniture Making/Construction/Bricklaying, Creative Industries, Horticulture, Employment Pathways, Retail Cosmetics and an employability skills program at IDV. Students have been focusing on OHS in their relevant industries to ensure all that students are prepared to undertake all tasks safely.
Following our annual Concord Careers Expo, held last week, parents/carers and Year 12 students will be meeting with the Post-School Transition Coordinator, Rhiannon Campbell, and myself throughout the last week of school to identify services they wish to explore further in Term 2 before making decisions about placements for 2021 in Term 3. Families find this meeting extremely beneficial to discuss the information they collected at the Expo and identify relevant options for life after school.
