Conflict Resolution Night

It was great to have families involved in the positive conflict resolution night.

As a school we were able to share our approach with families on how we resolve conflict as a school. We discussed the restorative approach, how that builds empathy and provides students with the tools. The focus was on how the school and families can use the restorative questions below to resolve conflict.

  1. What happened?
  2. How did it happen?
    (What led to this?)
  3. How did you act in this situation?
  4. Who has your behaviour affected and how?
  5. How were you affected?
  6. What needs to happen to make things right?
  7. How could you behave differently next time?

Parents/carers are encouraged to use the same questioning at home so that our students receive consistent messaging.

I look forward to more opportunities to meet with families to share good practice and polices at John Fawkner College.
