Term 3 - Week 1

Welcome Back

Welcome back to St Kilian’s School for Term 3. I hope you had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday. It has been wonderful to hear all of the stories and adventures the children have spoken about during their holiday break and it is great to see them all back at school enthusiastic and ready to tackle the term of work ahead.

Term 3 is another busy term. The students again will be engaged in diverse and challenging learning tasks and activities. From excursions, to sporting carnivals, along with an abundance of learning in the classroom, there will be many varied opportunities for the students to engage in and have fun.

Thank you for supporting St Joseph’s Rochester

During the holidays I had the pleasure of donating our school casseroles to Liz Trewick, Principal from St Joseph's Rochester.  It was  wonderful to see how many members of our school community contributed to this outreach.

Feast Day

Today we spent our day celebrating St Kilian’s Feast Day.  Although the feast day officially falls in the school holidays (8th July), as a school we thought it is important to celebrate ‘who we are’ by honouring our Patron Saint, Saint Kilian.

State Cross Country

Best wishes to Charli McConvill and Emma Colt who compete in the State Cross Country this week.

New Gate

Some of our students in grade 6 have created a video to help us all understand how we will use the new McCrae Street Gate.

Pupil Free Day

Pupil Free day - Monday 17th July.  The staff will be engaging in a Professional Development day with Toni Hatten-Roberts focusing on the learning and teaching in mathematics. Unfortunately the YMCA Outside School Hours Care will not be available on this day.

3 Way Conversations

During week 3 and 4 we are inviting all families to participate in 3 Way conversations. This is a great opportunity for parents to be part of their child’s learning, reflecting on the first semester of learning and setting learning goals for the second semester of the year. The format of the 3 Way Conversations will again go for 20 minutes and will take place on Tuesday 25th July, Wednesday 26th July and Tuesday 1st August.  Please use PAM to book these interviews. If you are unable to attend a 3 Way Conversation, please see your child’s classroom teacher so alternative arrangements can be made. PAM does not send a confirmation email for your interview time.  You will find your interview time listed in the “Booked times” section of Parent Teacher Interview Booking.

Division Netball

Next week, on Wednesday 19th July, some of our students in the senior grade are competing in the Bendigo Division Netball Championships. We wish all teams the best of luck and hope they enjoy the competition.

School Advisory Meeting

Next Wednesday 19th July at 6pm the School Advisory Council will meet in the school library at 6pm.  We would like to formally invite any members of the school community to attend, where you will be able to see the purpose and workings of the committee in action and discuss with us any questions you may have about the Advisory Council. Expressions of interest to join the Advisory Council will be accepted prior to, or during, this meeting.

Friday Assembly

Our next assembly will be showcasing 6KG on Friday 21st July. Assembly will take place in the school hall and we invite the parents of 6KG to attend.  We will start promptly at 3pm.

God Bless
