K - 2 NSW Curriculum Reform
Since 2020 the NSW Curriculum Reform has been shaping new K-2 Syllabuses. This year the new English and Mathematics syllabuses are being taught in our Early Stage 1 (Kindergarten) and Stage 1 (Year 1 and Year 2) classrooms. Along with the new syllabuses come new focus areas for teaching and learning and assessing and reporting.
To reflect the outcomes of the new English and Mathematics syllabuses, the language of the Semester 1 Reports will change. Please see the tables below which compare the outcomes and language of the old and new syllabuses. If you have a child in Kindergarten, Year 1 or Year 2, these are the areas you will see on the Semester 1 Report. Please note that not all of these outcomes will appear in this semester's report as some of these will be reported next semester. Leaders of Learning will unpack this in more detail during parent teacher conferences next term.
